Duty Station. Kampala
Reports to: Head of training
Period: Contract for one year and subject to renewal with satisfactory results.
Responsibilities of a programs officer
- Identify and contact potential grantees for funding.
- Represent company brand in industry conferences, meetings, and workshops.
- Manage and monitor projects and prepare funding reports.
- Provide guidance and maintain frequent communications with program partners.
- Analyze and troubleshoot program challenges for improvement
- Develop best practices to improve the overall performance of programs
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for programs.
- Identify and contact new program partners for business expansion.
- Plan and execute program activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct program reviews and prepare reports for management.
- Prepare meeting agenda, organize meetings, and distribute minutes.
- Actively seek current training methods and best practices to facilitate training participants
- Schedule and conduct meetings with management to proactively identify topics to be addressed or areas in need of additional instruction
- Develop marketing materials to be distributed within the renewable energy sector promoting the courses and necessary details
- Assist in planning, creating, and implementing each year’s training plan and trainers for each course
- Experience in capacity-building programs such as Searching for participants and new partnerships in both training, collaborations, and funding (Proposal writing)
- Consistently update the organization about the country’s policies and regulations, national development plans
Qualifications for Training Coordinator
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or renewable energy, Bachelor of Science in Education, business administration with a bias in finance.
- Each further training in project planning and management will be an added value
- Experience in preparation of concept notes and report writing
- 4-5 years of experience in a similar or related role” is crucial, but the “experience working as a programs officer” might be of added value.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, departments, and various stakeholders
- Basic knowledge in digital marketing
- Proficient in using Microsoft office and data analysis
- Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service
- Experience in analyzing sector needs to lesson planning, development, and implementation with consultants and other training institutions
- Experience in developing annual plans for growth
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple programs
